State High School rules with regulation ball
7th Grade: Official men’s game ball
Zone defenses
are prohibited
6th Grade: Women’s
game ball
Zone defenses are prohibited
No backcourt guarding (except when press
is allowed)
Pressing is allowed only in the last two
minutes of each half

prohibits Pressing)
Substitution: Every player must play a minimum of 8 minutes per game. This does not have to be consecutive minutes and there is free substitution for all grade levels. play, the player must be in the grade in which they are competing (or lower
grade), regardless of age.
2. A player must play in a
minimum of four regular season games to be able to participate in the
play-offs.
3. Complete rosters must be
submitted along with copies of insurance (AAU cards) Attn: Warren Sheldon. Mail to: PO. Box 1865, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.
Phone: 425-831-5543 (X1 then 2) Snoqualmie Valley Youth HUB
4. Participation of an
ineligible player will result in a forfeiture of those games and a repeat
offense may result in expulsion from the league.
Clarification
of the 6th and 7th Grade Man-To-Man Rule Six-Foot Rule
This rule is meant to eliminate isolation plays by the offense team and instill team play as our main objective.
No double-teaming of
the ball anywhere on the floor, except within the
offense’s three point line. Once the ball is advanced inside the
three-point line, any defensive player may double-team the ball.
If any offensive
player without the ball comes inside the three point line and goes back outside
the three point line or stands outside the three point line in an attempt to
create an isolation play, the defenses may play the ball and not his man, or
play off his man as far as he would like as long as he is between his man and
the basket, if he is not playing the ball.
Once the offensive player enters or re-enters the three-point
line, the six-foot rule takes effect.
Zone:
A zone defense can only be
called if a defensive man is guarding an area; not if the
defensive man is attempting to guard his man or
trap the ball within the three-point line. 1st time:
Warning. 2nd Time: technical
and automatic two points and the ball.
Coaches:
These rules are
consistent with the Eastside Traveling League and other “select” leagues. Please coach and play within these guidelines
and you cannot count on the referees to know or call this rule. Team play for all ten players on the floor is
our objective.
Sportsmanship:
The league would
appreciate coaches and parents helping the league to succeed by making this a
positive experience for referees. If a
coach is ejected from a game he will not be allowed to coach the following
game. The Cascade League Board will
evaluate a second ejection from a game during the season and an evaluation will
be made regarding the status of the coach.
The Cascade League strongly recommends you advise parents not to
confront officials during or after the game, as the league will not tolerate
this.
Overtime:
The overtime period will consist of a 3:00 minute period
with each team getting 1 timeout each! There is no carry over of timeouts.
Technical
and Flagrant Fouls:
Automatic two points and the ball. Intentional fouls,
two free throws and the ball.
